Swan Hill Rural City Council and Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery are thrilled to announce the opening of its very first exhibition in the new Gallery – A Place to Gather. The aptly named exhibition will feature works from Swan Hill’s permanent collection as well as other important works on loan from public galleries and private collections, from several well-known artists.
Art Gallery Director, Ian Tully, said he was absolutely delighted to be welcoming the community into the new gallery and to this wonderful exhibition. “This new gallery has been years in the making, and I’m very excited to be finally hosting an exhibition in this wonderful new space,” Mr Tully said. “This exhibition reflects the strength of the Gallery’s collection and how it has evolved. Since the Gallery’s inception in 1963, the collection has grown to include Australian printmaking and drawing, a distinctive collection of First Nations sculptural objects and an impressive array of works by Australian painters,”
